Haryana Police on Thursday stated it arrested an Military personnel for allegedly passing secret data to Pakistani intelligence company ISI.

Rohit Kumar was arrested on Wednesday night on a tip-off, it stated.

Kumar is a resident of Kodwa Khurd village within the Naraingarh space in Ambala district. Presently, he’s employed as Havaldar in an engineering regiment of the Military in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, the police stated.

He had come to his village just a few days again on depart, senior police officer Hamid Akhtar stated.

Mr Akhtar stated police had acquired an enter about Kumar and on the premise of which he was taken into custody.

Throughout interrogation, it got here to the fore that he was involved with a Pakistani agent and was sharing secret data and images to Pakistani intelligence company, he stated.

He stated Kumar’s two cellphones, which had been used for sharing data, had been seized.

The police will examine all the small print of his cellphones, he added.

Mr Akhtar stated Kumar joined the Military in 2012 and had been indulging in espionage actions since 2018.

Police stated throughout interrogation, Kumar confessed that he had shared some data with the Pakistani intelligence company.

A case has been registered in opposition to him below the provisions of the Official Secrets and techniques Act, they stated.
