A younger farmer in Madhya Pradesh vented out his frustration in public over not getting a good value for his produce by burning 160 kg garlic at an open public sale in Mandsaur, about 350 km from state capital Bhopal.

Shankar Sirfira from Deoli was pressured to take the acute step after he tried to promote his produce to wholesale merchants on the Mandsaur Mandi.

The video of the farmer shouting ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan‘ (Lengthy stay farmer) after setting the large produce on fireplace has been broadly shared on social media.
