“The anchor and the promoters of the TV channel have been clearly conscious that what Gandhi said was for the children in Wayanad and never the killers of Kanhaiya Lal,” the complainant stated within the FIR.

The channel, nevertheless, has issued an apology, with Mr Ranjan saying, “Yesterday, in our present DNA, Rahul Gandhi’s assertion was taken within the fallacious context by linking it to the Udaipur incident, it was a human error for which our group apologises.”

Earlier within the day, Chief Minister Gehlot criticised the channel for operating the inaccurate report.

“Gandhi had stated that the youngsters who did this (vandalised his workplace in Wayanad)… they’ve acted in an irresponsible approach. They’re youngsters, forgive them. However the TV channel and the anchor ran that Rahul Gandhi was saying those that killed Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur have been youngsters and must be forgiven,” Mr Gehlot stated.

Mr Gehlot was talking at a gathering on the Japanese Rajasthan Canal Venture with social gathering MLAs and public representatives of 13 districts at his residence.
